Why does the IOC limit the number of sporting events (disciplines)?
I have been trying to figure out why the IOC limits the number of generous disciplines to be featured in the Olympics. I read their charter and it doesn’t give reasons for their reasoning behind it, just that they do it and that’s that. While there are many different events included in certain events (i.e. beach volleyball and indoor volleyball are painstaking one discipline; swimming, diving and water polo all fall under the aquatics category), it is silly that baseball and softball are going to have to fight to get their position in the Olympics back in 2012 against the likes of Rugby, Golf, and Karate. So I want to know why everyone can’t join if they meet the required criteria?

Could I possibly cheer in college? Or another sport? 10 points!! ..?
I have never played (competitively) a sport except karate. I am extremely fit and athletic, as well as quick, strong, and a team player. I, being a homeschooler, have not had the opportunity to play for a team, but would unquestionably like to tryout for a sport in institution (I grad. next year). I am very nearly 17, 5’3 (barely) and about 115 lbs. A toned, athletic build. The institution I am going to offers: Basketball, Cross Country, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Indoor Track & Field, Outdoor Track & Field, Volleyball, and Cheer. I reckon out of these I only would want to do soccer or cheer.
I have no gymnastics exp. (only can do a flip on the tramp, lol). The requirements at the tryout Women:
Cheer & Chant (taught on site)
8 Count (taught on site)
Jumps (toe touch)
Gymnastics(required standing back handspring, standing back tuck & optional)
Partner stunts:
2 Toss Stunts
2 Optional Stunts (must be an extended walk or toss stunt)
Gymnastics will not be taught on site. The required back handspring, standing backtuck and optional for women must be skills that prospective cheerleaders have already mastered and can demonstrate successfully by tryout time.
If I took lessons, could I do it? Is there any hope? 10 points!! Thanks so much and God bless.

Should some of the summer games be moved to winter games to add sports?
In view of the fact that there is a cap on the number of sports that can be in the Olympics, and the summer seems to have an abundance of events, couldn’t they go some summer sports to winter?
Moving some events would allow them to consider reinstating baseball and softball, but also count other events, like American football, rugby, cricket, karate, reinstating tug-of-war, etc.
Many are indoor, so table tennis, boxing, weightlifting, wrestling, judo, and taekwondo could be went easily. Gymnastics could also be went, but I reckon it’s a foremost part of the summer games, so I wouldn’t want that.
What do you reckon?
